Nečujam

The biggest bay on Šolta, and one most visitors never reach. Deep, sheltered, and split into several smaller coves — so even in August it never feels full.

Nečujam cuts into the north coast of Šolta far enough that the swell simply never arrives. Inside it there are five or six distinct coves, each with its own character: pebbles at one, flat rock at another, pine shade at a third.

At the eastern end there are Roman ruins in shallow water — the remains of a fish pond attributed to the Emperor Diocletian's estate. You can snorkel straight over them in two or three metres.
